I was born and raised in the small town of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; surrounded by the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains!
My husband and I met and fell in love in Dayton, Tennessee, where we attended college.
I started working at kids' summer camps when I was a teenager, and I graduated from college with a degree in Elementary Education.
I'm a busy mom to two cute boys and a sweet baby girl.
I enjoy drinking milk with all meals; yes, Italian and Mexican foods included. BUT I just order water at restaurants.
I enjoy exercising, but I do much better when I have a friend to join me!
I have become a little bit addicted to coffee and iced coffee drinks; but I usually wait until the afternoon to drink them...during naps!
People usually spell either my first or last name wrong...or both.
I was an elementary school teacher for 4 years, until my oldest son was born.
I'm a bit of an introvert and I don't enjoy being the center of attention, unless there are no other adults around. But occasionally I pull out my bossy-teacher-self to be in charge. :)
I love my family, my friends, and Jesus!
I have always wanted to remember things the way they were, and I have never been very good at accepting change. (I was the kid who cried when her parents remodeled the severely outdated kitchen and made it bigger.) In high school, my best friend and I kept ridiculously detailed journals in a Word document about our lives with color-coded fonts so that any information would be a quick search and click away.
In some form or another, I have always tried to record things so that I could look back and remember every detail. And I've also always liked art; so using the art of photography to tell real-life stories has become the perfect fit for me. It incorporates my love of remembering details with my artistic side, and now I'm so happy to share that with you!
I photograph families in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County, Virginia (as well as surrounding areas). If you have any questions or want to book a session,
email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
I can't wait to hear from you!
